Classification of Operator Systems
Classification of operator algebras: complexity, rigidity, and dynamics
07 March 14:00 - 15:00
Martin Argerami - University of Regina
Operator Systems were implicitly introduced by Arveson in1969 and formalized by Choi-Effros in 1977. They are the natural domain for complete positivity, and they are surprisingly intricate, even in the finite-dimensional case. Arveson developed a representation theory for them in 1969, which was not completed until 2013. We will discuss this theory, the classification problem, and consider concrete examples.
